It's hard not to notice right away that there's something different about this distillery. The name and bottle itself seem different than everything else. Frankly, the overall vibe of this bottle is far more rock n' roll than the traditional feel of most scotch bottles. Perhaps things are different on the Isle of Jura, because the contents of the bottle are pretty different than most bottles I've tried.
Right away, you can see by the deep amber color that there's likely to be a full body to this scotch. Your nose is not disappointed if you love a deep woody smokiness. The refreshing thing is that you can get taste sweetness and several spice notes along with a light smoke on the tongue. The deep smoke doesn't hit you until the finish, but then it hits you hard.
This bottle is a favorite of my brother and sister-in-law who love a deep smokiness.
