Let me start by admitting a bias. I want to love a bourbon named for a baptist preacher.
If you like a sweet bourbon, this might be the one for you. It wasn't quite right for me. The color is a beautiful dark honey color, which might be indication of the contents. I found the nose to be overwhelmingly sweet which continues on the tongue, except with some unfortunate sharp and bitter notes as well. The finish is almost stinging and sharp like a dry white wine, but with heavy sour mash flavor alongside.
