Yeah, so this was the first glass I ordered at Lady Gregory's, a bar here in Chicago with a first-class whiskey selection. I came with a list of bottles to try and this was the first I picked. I wanted to strike up a good rapport with the bartender as I wanted his help in making the selections. Unfortunately, correctly pronouncing the name of this scotch was above my abilities (it's pronounced like boon-uh-hob-bin).
The pronunciation is worth the effort as this is a great bottle of scotch.
The color is gold and a little light compared to what I normally like, but the nose was unique like sherry and nuts. The flavor on the tongue is sweet like toffee and it dissolves into sherry and smooth caramel. Along the way, there's enough complexity that I wasn't able to correctly pull out everything I was tasting which leaves me wanting to come back for more.
